So just put the transponder on the dash of the vehicle you take into IL.ĭaughter #2 goes to college in Ithaca, NY. Can put multiple vehicles on the account. And charges the card when you need to reload. Takes about $40 to "charge" the transponder. 1/2 the price of paying cash through tolls. They send out a renew notice 8-10 years, but i think that is just to keep the hardware fresh. trucks sponsored by GEICO patrol the 294-mile Tollway system from 4 a.m. 1/2 cash price and sure beats stopping at the booth. I-Pass has a reciprocal agreement with Ez-Pass and others so that it is good from Wisconsin to the east coast on the toll system. you establish an account that is tied to a bank account or credit card and when the account is to a preset amount it refills from your designated account. You get it from I-pass customer service either by phone or their website. They use a transponder about the size of a cigarette pack that you mount on your windshield or on your dash. Posted 14:07 (#5234346 - in reply to #5234330) Subject: RE: Illinois Ipass questions Another nice thing is if your have multiple vehicles tied to your ipass account and ever get a violation you can call in and just pay the 80 cents instead with your ipass. I have been using ipass for several years. They tie to your bank account and replenish automatically I believe in the 50 dollar range. They can sit on your dash or attach to your windshield. They are good for several years until a potential update. It is worth to get one if you drive Illinois toll rodds much.
